Your first Appointment with Dr. SIngh:
Please be aware that your first appointment will include a detailed oral examination, and the necessary X-rays will be taken to make a proper diagnosis. Even if X-rays have been taken before in another office, and can be transferred to us, our protocol requires us to take our own X-rays for best readability and diagnostic quality. We will take these X-rays at no cost to the patient if there are insurance limitations. The radiation exposure of digital X-rays is minimal, and can be discussed in detail by the doctor if required.
We use an intra-oral camera and a special scanner to detect early cavities, and oral cancer. The ADA codes for this procedure is D0350, and D0431.This screening is usually not covered by insurance, but is highly recommended by us as a major benefit to the patient at a nominal cost of $25.
All treatment options will be discussed in detail along with your insurance benefit, out of pocket expenses and financing options. After the exam treatment planning and agreement of payment options is completed, our scheduling coordinator will make you your first appointment which will usually be for the type of cleaning you were diagnosed with. We understand that our patients have a hard time making multiple appointments and want same day cleanings. Our state laws require an exam by the dentist before a hygienist can see a new patient. The type of cleaning needs to be diagnosed,by the dentist first and the appointment individualized to each patient's needs, which makes it impossible for us to guess the length of appointment a patient needs with our hygienist. We do handle all emergencies on the same day and do full mouth or quadrant dentistry, thus making your subsequent visits minimal.
Payments for the day's appointment is collected and the next appointment made by the front office before you are taken back by the assistant.
